Journal

The Journal is the system’s daily execution log — a complete historical record of everything your automation programs did on any given day. It answers post-execution questions: Did the program run correctly? Were targets reached? How much nutrient was dispensed?

The Journal is entirely read-only — a retrospective view into completed automation activity.

Layout

  • Left sidebar — a date picker calendar for selecting which day to inspect
  • Right main area — all Time Windows that ran on the selected day, plus a Daily Summary at the bottom

Selecting a Date

Click any date on the calendar. The system loads all Time Windows logged for that day.

If no data exists for the selected date — because no program was running — an empty state appears.

Time Windows

Each automation program is divided into Time Windows — named slots during which specific flows run. Every window that executed on the selected day appears as a collapsible accordion entry.

Window Header Row

ElementDescription
Status icon✅ green = COMPLETED · ⚠️ yellow = INCOMPLETE · 🕐 gray = UNKNOWN
Window nameThe name you gave this time slot in the Template Editor
Time rangeStart and end time (e.g. 00:00 – 23:00)
Trigger badgesGreen lightning bolt badges showing trigger names that fired
Trigger Log buttonShows count (e.g. 2× continue · 1× break). Click to open Trigger Log dialog

Status meanings:

  • COMPLETED — the window ran to its scheduled end time
  • INCOMPLETE — the window was terminated early (a BREAK trigger fired)
  • UNKNOWN — the system could not determine the final state

Trigger Log Dialog

Lists every trigger event that fired inside this window:

ColumnDescription
TimeExact time the trigger fired (HH:MM:SS)
TriggerThe name of the trigger condition
Action■ BREAK (green) — stopped execution / ▶ continue (blue) — execution continued
FlowsHow many flows were connected to this trigger

Window Details (Expanded View)

Click the expand arrow to see three sub-sections:

Controlled Parameters

When the program was actively controlling sensor-tied variables toward a target value (e.g., filling a tank to 100 L, dosing pH+ until pH reaches 6.0):

ColumnDescription
Device NameThe sensor being monitored
Start / EndSensor readings at the beginning and end of the window
TargetThe target value with allowed tolerance (e.g. 100.00 L ±5.00 L)
Status✓ Reached (green) — value entered target zone / ↺ Adjusting (yellow) — target not yet reached
TrendMini sparkline. Click to open full Sensor Detail Sheet

Environment Telemetry

Sensors passively monitored — recorded for observation, but not actively controlled:

ColumnDescription
Δ (Delta)↑ +2.30 (rising) / ↓ -1.10 (falling) / → stable
TrendMini sparkline. Click to open full Sensor Detail Sheet

Resource Usage

When actuators consumed physical resources — pumps, dosing units, heaters:

ColumnDescription
ActionAction type badge (e.g. ON, DOSE, PULSE)
DosesNumber of individual dose events
mlTotal volume dispensed in milliliters
DurationHow long the actuator was active in total

Sensor Detail Sheet (Drill-Down)

Clicking any sparkline opens a full dialog with the time-series data for that sensor during the window.

Chart View — area chart showing the shape of change over time.

Table View:

ColumnDescription
TimeTimestamp of each reading
ValueSensor reading with unit
Delta (Δ)Change from the previous reading

Daily Summary

At the bottom, a Daily Summary aggregates data from all windows combined for the selected day.

  • Resources Used — All Windows — total consumption across the entire day
  • Sensor Ranges — All Windows — daily min/max readings for every active sensor

Key Concepts

ConceptMeaning
Controlled ParameterA sensor the program was actively driving toward a target value
TelemetryA sensor read and recorded, but not controlled
ResourceAn actuator that dispensed or consumed something physical
BREAK triggerEnded the window early (target achieved)
continue triggerFired a condition check but let the window continue
ReachedThe controlled value entered the target ±tolerance zone
AdjustingThe controlled value had not yet reached the target when the window ended
