Data Management
The Data Management module is your database maintenance and audit control center. It provides tools to monitor accumulated data, selectively clean up old execution history, and inspect every significant system event.
Layout — Two Tabs
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Execution & Sessions | Manage execution traces — records of every flow and program that ran |
| System & Audit | Manage the audit log of configuration changes, lifecycle events, and errors |
Tab 1 — Execution & Sessions
Quick Cleanup
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Clear Tests | Deletes only execution traces from flow test runs. Use after debugging. |
| Clear Orphans | Deletes orphan traces — records that lost their parent session reference |
| Clear Zombies | Deletes zombie sessions — sessions that started but never completed (e.g., from a crash) |
| Clear Errors | Deletes only sessions that ended with an error state |
Each button is automatically disabled when there are zero records of that type.
Clear Entire Execution History — destructive, requires confirmation. Removes all execution traces, sessions, and related data.
Warning: Clearing all execution history removes data used by Journal, Insight Engine, and Resource tracking.
Execution Statistics
Shows current data volume:
- Program Runs — number of program execution runs and total trace records (with zombie/error sub-badges if any)
- Test Flows — number of test runs
- Standalone Flows — manually triggered flow runs
Advanced Session Explorer
Collapsible table of every historical session:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Session / Program Prefix | Session identifier. Named programs show the name + UUID below. |
| Type | 🟢 Program / 🔵 Test / ⚪ Standalone |
| # Flows | Number of distinct flows in this session |
| # Traces | Total execution trace records |
| Last Seen | Timestamp of the most recent trace (default sort: newest first) |
| Status | 🔴 Zombie / 🟠 Error / — if clean |
Select sessions and click Delete Selected to remove them with confirmation.
Tab 2 — System & Audit
Retention Policy
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Days input | 1–3650 days (default: 90) |
| “Clean Older” button | Deletes all system events older than the specified days |
Event Statistics
Category breakdown grid showing counts per event type (CONFIG, HARDWARE, LIFECYCLE, PLAN, ERROR, SECURITY).
System Events Explorer
Full audit log viewer with column-level filtering:
| Filter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Dropdown | CONFIG, HARDWARE, LIFECYCLE, etc. |
| Timestamp | Date range | Filter events between two dates |
| Type | Dropdown | Specific event type identifier |
| Severity | Dropdown | INFO, WARNING, ERROR, CRITICAL |

Expanded Event Detail — click any row to see the full event payload:
- For
DEVICE_UPDATEDevents: a Diff Viewer shows exactly which fields changed, old values (red) vs. new values (green) - For all other events: formatted JSON payload
Practical Usage
Routine maintenance (weekly):
- Clear Tests → Clear Orphans (if any)
- Switch to System & Audit → set retention to 90 days → Clean Older
Investigating an incident:
- System & Audit tab → filter by Timestamp + Category (ERROR/CRITICAL)
- Expand the relevant event to see full payload
Auditing a configuration change:
- Filter Type by
DEVICE_UPDATED - Expand — the Diff Viewer shows exactly which fields changed
